Uploading pics... anyone else having a problem?

I've run into trouble today as well... several hours ago, and again just now...

I'm going to put a few pics in here as attachments, so I can then copy the URL of the larger pic the thumbnail links to... and then save those links for a thread I wanted to start but don;'t have time for, and only wanted to get the images in place first & write the post later...

Keep the reports coming.

What has happened is our server management people changed some major operating system settings to resolve the slow operation problems we were having. But evidently the changes they made have had a major impact on our folder permissions settings. Your attachments are filed on upload into a folder just for you. That's 1000s of folders that all need to have write permission restored.

For now, I have an entire clipart site also on our server unable to display any image larger than a thumbnail and I am exhausted after dealing with this permission issue for most of the day.

sorry to hear that Fred. No pressure from us, but obviously the reports help, so I'll offer any report I can.

I looked at Mosh's "working Saturday" thread & wondered if his pic was never there, because I don't see one now, & I noticed a pic on the next to last post on the "client email/loss words" thread & then that pic went away too...

Hmmmm ... you're telling me that pics are disappearing? That would defy my understanding of the issue. When the permission is wrong, then the poster will not be able to complete an upload. Once there, however, there is no permission needed for it to remain.

Mosh, did you post a pic successfully and then it disappeared?
