URGENT HELP NEEDED - Summa S2 160T Firmware update killed the cutter

Hi All,

New to the forum...

We have a Summa S2 160T which we did the firmware update on to access the gforce option. Went about it following the Summa Directions to update the firmware. All was running well until the screen on the cutter went black and stayed that way for hours. Didn’t respond, the computer crashed as well. Started up the pc and it could not find the cutter. The cutter when turned off, the screen no longer comes on. Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mujeeb,

Does the plotter power up at all at this point? If it powers up but the screen is still black it's possible there could be a loose connection that could be causing the screen to malfunction. If the plotter won't power up at all it is possible that the process of upgrading the firmware could have corrupted the mainboard(this would be unlikely but not impossible). If that is the case then you may need to contact the distributor that you purchased the machine from to discuss a repair and hopefully it will be covered under warranty.
