usb to parallel

so i got a new computer and of course they no longer come with the printer port, i picked up a usb adapter to hook up my old roland cm24 anybody know what procedure to follow on the flexisign set up?
what port should i use?

I ran my old Roland on port one.

When you set up the adapter, you assign it as the parallel port.
Then set flexi as the same parallel port.

i dont have a roland .. but i do have a vinyl express as a backup to my backup .. what i did was i went and bought a parallel adapter card and installed it using a vacant pci slot .. then assigned it to lpt1
