ValueJet 1604 HELP!

Just a few short months ago I began having issues with my blacks not printing. After three tech visits, a new maintenance station, print head and solenoid, the baby started humming again and printing like new. Now the same darn issue is happening again, and I am ready to scream. I clean, soak the print head, check the nozzles, and everything prints great except for the first black section, which is patchy as heck. Do I need a new black damper? Is there something I'm missing? I am at a total loss here. :banghead:

As far as I can tell.

There is no air in the lines. Help a novice out and tell me the easiest way to check the dampers.

Thanks for the response.

Dampers have to be inspected visually - you may need to pull a cover off to see them.

BTW - what brand of ink are you running?
