Versaworks question

Hi,

Does anyone know - in Versaworks when it shows the estimated ink consumption for a print - is that total (i.e. CMYK) or per color? Fro instance, a 4'x8' print might show as 29ml of ink? I would think that is for all four colors total?

Yep, total.

After the print is complete go to View/Job Log and then double click on the applicable job, and it will display individual amounts that were actually used for the job.

Are the job-specific ink values in the job log based on actual ink consumption, or estimated values?

Does it change in the log after the print is complete? I've always seen the info appear in the Job Log after it's ripped... giving all the amounts. I always used this data if I wanted to know... I've never went back after the actual completed print... I always assumed it would be the same after printing as it was after ripping?

Didn't know that! Thanks - the log is quite helpful.

Good catch...this tells us that the values in the log are estimated ink usage based on the RIPped data file, and not actual usage based on the printed output.

If you really have to know get an accurate gram scale and weight the carts before then after. 1 gram is very very close to 1ml of ink.
