Vertical lines in print not consistant 1204

I am getting some vertical lines in my prints and I don't know what is causing it.
I have a Mutoh 1204
Flexi Pro Cloud
Perfect nzl check

I want to say that it is a damper issue because it is still laying down ink just not enough. The problem with that theory is if it was a damper issue it wouldn't be that consistent in the locations where puts down less ink.

Because its in specific locations It makes me think its the T fence / encoder strip issue however that isn't consistent either. As you can see in the pictures it starts and stops during a single print.

I would love any feedback/ ideas on the printing issue I am having.

Vertical Banding

Slow the Carriage Speed down... Some colors, usually lighter colors when printing you will see this anomly. It is a profile issue in regards to CR Speed. Use a profile that utilizes a slower Carriage speed...

clean/wipe your railings with silicone grease a few amount, and clean your encoder strip.

I disagree that this is a mechanical/electronic issue as have seen a lot of this kind of effect with epson-headed printers, especially when printing that flesh/taupe/beige type color. I would say that this is an issue of insufficient dot-gain; basically the printed dots are not spreading out enough before drying and are leaving white patches between them (which causes the inconsistent tone).

Ways to fix this:

- Lower the heater temperatures (this will allow more time for the droplets to spread out while drying)
- Change to a higher dot gain media (not every media will work well on every printer/ink)
- Choose a profile with higher ink limits or better still, have an expert produce a custom color profile for this media (the "canned profiles" are only so good.
