I just received a Valuejet 1204 and a Enduralam laminator.. we specialize in racing graphics and print wraps like this one attached.

We are currently using the Arlon GTX 4560 and Oracal 210 Laminate.. Does any one know if this combination will work good on flat surfaces?

Also, what do you think the max ink cost would be per sqft? I'm brand new the printing part of signs and that was the first wrap I've ever printed...

**Edit: At most these wraps will last 6 months before getting destroyed

Pretty much anything will work on flat surfaces and as far as holding up it really doesn't matter on round track cars. One thing to watch for is the area around the exhaust pipe if it comes out of the door like most around here. The heat will cause the vinyl to distort and sometime change color. Also if you do any hoods that have deep body lines, the heat from the engine will most likely cause lifting in those areas. BTW the car looks good, keep it up & make sure you charge enough & GET PAID.

[SUB]As long as your vinyl and overlam are the same media type (both cast films or both calendared films) you're good to go. You do not want to mix and match, otherwise de-lamination is a big possibility! From my own experience with vehicle wraps, cast films are absolutely the way to go. For flat surface applications, calendared films are typically much, much more economical![/SUB]

Do you know what quality you use in flexi for vinyl? I'm currently using Quality 2 1440x720 I think cause anything else comes out weird looking like it doesnt use enough ink...

1440x720 is a waste of ink.

If it doesn't print well for you at 720x720 you have other problems. If you're using anything close to a decent profile, have your rendering intents set properly [no color correction for every thing but bitmaps, bitmaps set to perceptual], and the gradient handling set to the highest possible setting you should be pretty damn close to what you see is what you get mode.

If you're not then try a better, or at least different, profile.
