Vinyl to metal printing for resell

I'm sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find it when doing search. Our bread & butter is CD/DVD mfg (not as much in years past since the advent of downloads) and apparel printing, but we do have a Roland Printer/Cutter that paid for itself pretty quick and now we want to diversify a little more if it makes sense.

We do banners, stickers, thermoflex for shirts & yard signs but wanted to see if anyone had experience with printing on clear vinyl and applying to brushed metal or corrugated metal (which I know would be a pain) sign. We wanted to experiment with doing a few prints on metal and reselling them. We don't have a flatbed printer but have 3 friends that do here in town, and I know that would be optimum for printing on flat metal, but if there was something we could do in-house I'd prefer that. Any suggestions?? Even if you think it's not a great I'm all ears.

Thanks!

why are you wanting to use clear? if you are going to apply a full coverage then you will loose the brushed metal look & feel with the vinyl. doing contour will work better.
moreover unless you have white inks to lay a base down first you will loose the color vibrancy / color accuracy.

best way is to try different samples and see what you like, more importantly what customers like and will pay for
