Vinyl vs Mesh Banners

I have a customer wanting sponsor banners to hang on chain link fencing at a ball field. Previously they have used coroplast signs but want to switch to banners. Do you think that I should recommend 13 oz vinyl banners or 8 oz mesh banners? Which will have the longer life? I have never ordered mesh banners and would appreciate your thoughts on their durability. THANKS!

Mesh banners have a "washed" look to them. I do tons of ball sponsor banners, I use 14oz banner material. Do a grommets every two feet, even on the up and down hem. I hook them to the fence with BLACK zip ties (black ones are UV resistant). I have some that have been up for 5-6 seasons, they do get taken down and stored in the winter though.

We do a substantial amount of youth sports sponsorship banners and such and use exactly the same material and installation process that Mosh described. Even in our community with strong sustained winds, our customers just don't like the pale, washed out look of mesh.
