Clean the strip that runs along with the heads with some isoprophyl alcohol swabs.

I don't see a strip? On our old machine there was a reader strip that would need cleaning but on the new machine the reader strip is hidden in the back of the machine so it stay clean. Is that what you mean?

Try turning up the heat and step it down to see if that works. You can also do a powerful cleaning
