VP540 Not printing yellow

New to the board after doing multiple google searches.

Have a vp540 the yellow is completely dropped out (it did print 1 bar in the test print). Have performed, manual, multiple powerful cleanings before taking it apart. The lines have no air bubbles and the yellow dampers have ink in them (one of the dampers actuall is almost filled completely).

I'm fearing it's a print head failure or dry up. Any ideas?

Interestingly enough when I peaked around theres a pool of yellow ink thats mostly dry underneath the capping station as if it isn't draining properly. Could a capping issue cause the head to dry up?

It is possible the tube connecting the captop to the pump separated.

Clogged or damaged captop can cause drop out.

Look to see if the captop has the tube connected to the bottom of it... If not, put a replace the captop...

How old is this unit? Ever replaced captops before?

What ink is in the unit?

Captops should be changed/replaced at least once per year for optimal performance. Obviously a recommendation more than requirement.

Change the captop, make sure you have enough ink in the cartridge and run a cleaning... should be good to go.

Call me if you have any questions or need captops. CiberSupply is an authorized Roland distributor and we stock OEM Parts.

Hi,

This is a question for Bobby... I have a roland SJ540 Print and Cut running genuine inks... i am having a problem at the moment where the heads a deteriorating and the print quality looks poor. I have replaced the cap tops and still it is getting worse. i do cleans and nothing changes... i have checked my waste bottle and it is not filling up at all... (still dry as a bone) what else is there i can try?

Cheers Mark

If the waste bottle is bone dry, I would suspect something is up with your pumps...

If possible take a few pics and post here.... pics of: test print, captops, pumps
