VP540 printing short

Bigdawg

Just Me
Hi all,
Just had an issue while printing imagvue perf film. The guys got on site and the prints were about 1/2" - 3/4" shorter than they were supposed to be. This did not happen in trimming. Prints were to be 75" and one printed 74.5" and the other was a little shorter. RIP (Versaworks) shows the size of the print at 75".

I am currently reprinting with an added inch - which if it prints fully means trimming on site (which we were trying to avoid). Material was rolled out so there was no pull on the prints as they were printing. Anybody else run into this issue? And if so... any thoughts?

Any update on this problem? Having same issue with a roland SP-540i never done it before but now it is 1" short. Very hard to compensate for precision work. Anyone got any ideas?

To both Bigdawg and USA_SIGN,

We assume you're using the Roland VersaWorks RIP software for printing your jobs. If this is true, the following info should help.

The VersaWorks "Feed Calibration Control" feature may be the source of all the distance feed troubles you're experiencing. Please ensure the printer's feed calibration is performed properly before continuing (refer to the printer's user manual for more details).

Now, be aware that the calibrations will be ignored if the Feed Calibration Control is set to "Use Default Media Settings" in VersaWorks. You're going to change the value to "Use Printer Settings" and that should solve this problem.

If you have additional questions or need extra support directly from Roland corporate support, please submit an "official" support request form online here: Product Support Form | Roland

If you do write us, we look forward to helping you and take care,

Thank you for your response Roland Support! Yes, we are using Versaworks, but it has only happened with this one material so we'll check those setting and hopefully it will be back to right sizing. Again - I appreciate that you guys have become active in this Roland forum.
