you can make signs with pottery........or murals or pots or throw on a wheel. sometimes working from slab if you want something that isnt round.
in these pictures, you can see a lot of it is just "slab" clay.

In high school, slab and coil were my favorite methods. The wheel to me was like using a plotter, where as my stuff was hand made.

My mom had many slab clay created windchimes when I was in high school.

Coil and slab were THE way to make great stuff, slip molds and the wheel just never appealed to me. Still have some of the pieces I made, back in the day.
