Went to a meet.

Had a good day learning new techniques and meeting good people.

Practiced pin striping, wall dogging, applying leaf, and wine tasting.

Will be preparing to do other cnc related meet November 15 at the meet I host at my place.

Here is a couple of pics. This is a skull sculpted by Patrick Kelly a local artist. Applied some leaf to the piece which will be part of his sample panel collection. Yes that is a Langnickel brush

Any meet with like minds is always awesome & a trip into the learning curve which is the best fun.

So tell us some more. what was it about, how many people showed, what yawl did & who put it on.

Yeah, like Craig said, they're always a good time, when you're with your own kind. It's almost like a vacation. You regenerate your batteries and your faith in your fellow peers is boosted 1,000%

Any info on the meet your hosting?

I have an old Gerber machine, and would like to see others setups... just seems like no one has them on the east coast close to me.

The meet was small but filled with some knowledgeable people. About 26 people were there.

Bill Jane Diaz shared their skills with paints and brushes.

Dennis and Pat Raap had a walll dog project set up where every one got a chance learn layout and to fill in on a Steam Engine 14x 28 FT themed mural.

Bill Diaz gave a module on pin striping that went way beyond just techniques.The secret to striping is not just pulling lines. But is selecting the right brush. One learner pulled lines that looked like a kid with a crayon. Once advised on a proper brush the lines turned into pin stripes on the very next attempt. One beginner went from barely holding a sword brush to pulling some fine lines. Several walked away committed to ordering a set of brushes.

Patrick Kelly a local airbrush guru gave a section from his airbrush curriculum he teaches at a local college. Very nice results for several who wanted to look at airbrushing.

The food was generous and filling. The wine tasting was even better.
