Go buy two more at the sale price, take them back using your full price receipt.
Okay, my bad, that's wrong. Don't do that. That would be bad.
Got one, love it.
Pat, that is NOT bad in my book, I would do exactly that, purchase two more at the sale price go out one door and then go back in to the return desk and get a refund using the one week old full price receipt, without feeling bad at all.
Some stores like Lowe's and Sears's have a 30 price protection guarantee, and will give you the difference back if the item goes on sale within 30 days of a purchase.
But I have had a run-in with Home Depot here in Texas about this exact same issue, I purchased a folding portable miter saw stand from HD for $169.00 and one week later they had it on sale for $149.00. So I went back to HD and showed them the receipt and ask the manager if they had a price protection policy and if I could get a refund of $20, the manager told me NO, they don't have that type of policy, nothing he could do for me, even after I mentioned other stores have a 30 price protection policy.
I then told the manager that although he couldn't do anything, I could, and would, I told him I was going to purchase the exact same folding miter saw stand on sale for $149.00, go out side one door, bring it back in to the return desk, and use my one week old receipt to get a $169.00 refund, netting me the $20 difference, and his remark to me was, you would go through all that for $20, and I said, yep, just watch me. It was more of a matter of principle than the $20.
And if this even happens again, within a 30 day period, I have NO problem doing it again. If Sears's can offer a 30 price protection policy, other retailers should do the same.
Years ago I learned a valuable lesson in life, and that is you get what ever you accept, so if you let these big box retailers walk over you that's what you get. Stand up to them and do what's best for you, oh not to worry, if Home Depot can sell these work stands for $22 and still make money, they will be just fine after you get your refund.
Also, I just got my HD Pro Savings post card in the mail today (see photo), and will go get one tomorrow morning before they run out.
PS: The same Werner Portable Aluminum Work Platform sells for $81 at Amazon:
