I needed a light weight scaffolding type platform last week. I have a scaffolding set but didnt have the room for this particular project. So I went to Homedepot and picked up 2 of these.

Today, I get in the mail a "Pro Savings" card that has them on sale for half the price starting tomorrow.

It always happens like that it seems. When I need it, it is full price, as soon as I am done with what I needed, it goes on sale.

Anyway, not sure if it is the same for all Homedepots but for 22 bucks it makes a decent lightweight platform.

I'll have to look into one of those.

You might go in and see if they would do something for you on the price.

I bought the big Ridgid miter saw and stand some years back and the following weekend they went on sale where the stand was included for free. The store was great about having us "return" my saw that was sitting at home and then "buying" a new one.

Ya I was going to do that tomorrow. See if I can get some money back. Heck even if it is just a gift card I am okay with that. Probably pick up 2 more if they give me the money back.

I want some of those!

So how do I get one of those pro savings coupon/card thingies???

I signed up for this a while back

www.homedepot.com/prosavings

you have to opt in for the emails but I get things all the time about specials and things like that.

This is what came in the mail.

Go buy two more at the sale price, take them back using your full price receipt.

Okay, my bad, that's wrong. Don't do that. That would be bad.

Got one, love it.

I have 2 double sided ladders 2 step and 4 step I place plank between when needed, hope to get more double sided ladders they work awesome.

This looks good but to me if I only need one ladder, I'm carrying bulk, for planking then it is a distance more then 6ft to about 10 ft is a 2x8 or 2x10 just add ladders and plank for longer distance, or my scaffolds for higher.

I usually use my ladders as well. But these come in handy from time to time

I have another version of that unit, which has extendable legs as well (for additional height). Wish I could find another one, as we use it all the time!

Lowe's used to carry them years ago. Got it for $39 back then too.

Pat, that is NOT bad in my book, I would do exactly that, purchase two more at the sale price go out one door and then go back in to the return desk and get a refund using the one week old full price receipt, without feeling bad at all.

Some stores like Lowe's and Sears's have a 30 price protection guarantee, and will give you the difference back if the item goes on sale within 30 days of a purchase.

But I have had a run-in with Home Depot here in Texas about this exact same issue, I purchased a folding portable miter saw stand from HD for $169.00 and one week later they had it on sale for $149.00. So I went back to HD and showed them the receipt and ask the manager if they had a price protection policy and if I could get a refund of $20, the manager told me NO, they don't have that type of policy, nothing he could do for me, even after I mentioned other stores have a 30 price protection policy.

I then told the manager that although he couldn't do anything, I could, and would, I told him I was going to purchase the exact same folding miter saw stand on sale for $149.00, go out side one door, bring it back in to the return desk, and use my one week old receipt to get a $169.00 refund, netting me the $20 difference, and his remark to me was, you would go through all that for $20, and I said, yep, just watch me. It was more of a matter of principle than the $20.

And if this even happens again, within a 30 day period, I have NO problem doing it again. If Sears's can offer a 30 price protection policy, other retailers should do the same.

Years ago I learned a valuable lesson in life, and that is you get what ever you accept, so if you let these big box retailers walk over you that's what you get. Stand up to them and do what's best for you, oh not to worry, if Home Depot can sell these work stands for $22 and still make money, they will be just fine after you get your refund.

Also, I just got my HD Pro Savings post card in the mail today (see photo), and will go get one tomorrow morning before they run out.

PS: The same Werner Portable Aluminum Work Platform sells for $81 at Amazon:

90 day return policy....Tell them you want the sale price or you're just going to return what you bought for a refund and repurchase it at the sale price.

Our local Lowe's store has a price match policy to compete with Home Depot, they offer a competitive price match plus 10%, so if I take my HD Pro savings post card to them tomorrow, I should be able to get them to match the Home Depot price of $22, less 10%, amounts to $19.80 and also pay less tax. I just might get two of them at that price.

I have several different kinds of work platforms, Up-Right aluminum scaffolding, Werner work stands and the 8'- 13' adjustable aluminum work plank, and a 20' aluminum work plank, including the Harbor Freight Step Stool/Working Platform which is way smaller and on sale for $29.99. For $20 bucks I the this portable aluminum work platform at Home Depot is a great buy.

Anyone interested, I can scan this Home Depot Pro Savings card and send you a high res file to print you own. Actually, there is NO bar code or anything on the post card, you may be able to go to the Pro Desk and just request the pro sale price?

I just got back from Home Depot and bought 3 of these platforms at $22 each with no pro card or coupon needed, though i did sign up for a Pro card yesterday for future use.

Thanks for the heads up! This will be great for cube van installs without having to haul a couple ladders and a plank around.

Picked up 2 more this morning. Talked to the asst store director first thing and got a credit for the others I got last week. I used that credit to get the 2 new ones. Picked up another shop vac as well.

I use the hell out of mine, and I paid $40 for it a few years ago at Sherwin-Williams.
Make sure you lift to move it or sometimes the legs go under on ya.
Even when it's locked.
Love....Jill

I took some pictures of mine... wish I could find more of them! Was only $39 years ago when I got it at Lowe's.

It's a Tricam Industries WP-2030-T

MISSION COMPLETED

Went to Lowe's, they had the same Werner folding aluminum work platform for $44.00 each, showed the customer service desk the HD Pro sales card listing them on sale for $22.00, they matched the price and deducted an additional 10%, sold me two for $19.80 each, so, I got them below half-price and saved on the sales tax also.

Feels like... W I N N I N G!
