What do you think? PVC or Acrylic? Do I need a permit?

Hello,
our client wants a sign for their new gym.
I dont want to use the banner material.

Its white PVC (or acrylic) cut with a cnc machine and the vinyl on it.
I was thinking of suspending it with metal wires that are attached to the material with metal sleeves.
The size is about 3 by 7 feet.

How do you like the idea?
Do i need a permit to hang it there?
Are there better materials for that?

bad idea IMO - pvc or acrylic would break - maybe 1/8" aluminum would survive some winds

I would imagine you need a permit, yes

You need a permit to paint a frickin' doorknob.

Of course you'd need a permit, but I doubt you'll get one for that idea.

It's too low to pedestrian traffic. Most municipalities have a height restriction. It's usually 10' to the bottom of the sign and usually has to be attached to a main bearing wall. I sign like that, either has to be a temporary banner, which I also doubt will pass codes...... or mounted high enough, no one could/would get hurt for any reason.... accidental or on purpose.
