What fonts are required for windows and internet explorer?

Have you ever cleaned up your fonts and found things don't look quite the same?

I am wondering what this font list is, and are they free to download anywhere?

this is a folder I've set aside as required, never to be deleted fonts...
Don't take this as gospel that there aren't others to keep around... but I think I found a list on-line & this is what was on that list:

looks like the same list... with 1 or 2 differences.

(You might want to add a carriage return between "Georgia Italic" and "Impact"
in case anyone copies your list)
