What is you favourite tool in your work place?, wether it's software or hardware, Free or expensive. Just something you get a kick out of using it?
My favourite tool is a piece of software i created in excel.
It's a spread sheet that i can upload 2 LAB.txt readings from an ISO 12647-7 control strip and compare them with each other. Either i can compare 2 different medias, or 2 different profiles on the same media. or use it day to day to see if there's any colour drift on the printer.
So far It tells me:
- Max DeltaE
- Min DeltaE
- Average DeltaE
- LAB value of the media.
- LAB value of 100%k,
- LAB 100%CMYK.
Also on another page it has every patch DeltaE.
It also has the Day date and time. and what spectro settings used.
I'll probably add CMYK curves. and maybe a grey scale curve.
I use this in conjunction with my Barbieri Spectropad.
I love using it.
