But wouldn't that be somewhat translucent? From the pic, this material looks more opaque

When it has small letters like that on glass it has that look. It is not that translucent.

Yes, looks like Avery Frosted Sparkle(A5862-S) but there may be a similar in Oracal

3m makes it, i believe it's called frosted crystal or something like that.

I'm not a fan of MacTac but I have installed Mactac B-free or something like that.
