I need more money - not more work. I usually just pass on jobs like that - Don't think twice about it. I know we do great work and provide great service. I am not the cheapest guy on the block and I don't want to be. Spend your time making better money with better clients - it will benefit you in the long run and your customers will thank you for it.

I agree with Shovel and Pat...... but not on a Saturday.

With times being what they are.... anyone could still make a profit at $450. We'd be higher, but I think anyone here would be foolish to turn this away... especially if you'd take 5 minutes to up-sell the guy with whatever story you wanna make up. and get an extra bill for it.

I knew computer plotters were going to be trouble.

I remember the day the plotter salesHotty walked in our shop and started flipping through the looseleaf binder of clear pages showing how we could assemble colored shelf paper into full color cartoonish designs. Between the binder and the cleavage, it was an easy sell.

$450 is a good price. I'd do it for $400, being as its a simple job. We don't need to price gouge EVERY time, we are in a recession.

Maybe my area is unique somehow, but we typically get $800 - $1100 for anything with that much copy, but we would use A9, and spend a little design time cleaning up the layout. Professional carpet cleaners should look professional.

A6 is all that's required unless it's an established company with a fleet.
Everyone else tosses the van after a few years.

Damn I'm tired of hearing that line of shit. You know, any moron could go to the hardware store, buy a brush and some enamel, and start being a sign man too. I know, I did it.

From what I've seen 90% of the "old school, hand lettering, design purists" out there are/were a bunch of no talent hacks anyway.
