I used a Roland 545ex and out of all of the print jobs I done that got laminated was less than 20%. I am all for printing and getting the job out of the door (actually it was out of the way) and onto the next job as fast as possible. I cringe now thinking how much hassle it would be not to have a all in one print and cut printer. If you do a lot of yard signs and 4x8's and such, why laminate? I did laminate magnetics then just cut them out by hand as I trimmed the magnetic.
My suggestion may not fit your shop but, it worked well for me.
