Which printer for small decals?

Hi!

I'm looking into buying a printer for doing small decals on rolls. I currently own a SP-300V, but would love to print out decals faster. I've looked at the Primera cx1000e (http://primeralabel.eu/en/pages/cx1000e-color-label-printer.html) and Swiftcolor SCL-4000P (http://www.swiftcolor.com/SCL-4000P.php). They both use pre-cut rolls with labels.

Any thoughts on these, or any of the other alternatives?

Interesting idea.

Since it's inkjet, seems it could be the same resolution as the SP300. Looks like it could replace my Gerber edge.

Do you know the cost ?

Some thoughts...

Do you have to buy the blank labels from them, and how much do they cost.
Are they paper labels only or are vinyl labels available

What is the cost of the ink ?

Almost everything that comes out of my SP540, because of the possibility of the ink fading or coming off with chemicals, I laminate. Can you somehow laminate them after printing and re cut them out

Yeah, about same quality as the SP300, but alot faster. The Swiftcolor is about $9500 here in Norway. Not sure about the other one.

I'm sure there are many places to pick up the labels. Calling the supplier tomorrow to ask about the margins of the labels, if it prints all the way to edge or not.

Paper and vinyl. Are you satisfied with the Gerber?

I would recommend the Gerber Edge if you are NOT doing photographic quality decals. It excels at everything else besides that.
