Surprisingly the motors and trans were not damaged only interior and exterior panels.The insurance company based sells on these at 2-3k.

The hard part will be passing the re-builts off as "non smoker car".
A trucker friend was sleeping in his tractor last year, woke up when the engine stopped and noticed the entire thing was ablaze. Quite the fire. All the aluminum melted. Electrical problems. If he had a trailer on it, insurance would have covered it, but his partner is El Cheapo. Just finished paying it off...10 months after the fire.
