some of ya'll may have remembered me asking if anyone had any tips or suggesting for making large portable 3 sided banners stands.

Well, we eventually got them done, a total of (27) 8' x 12' banners, mounted onto 9 portable bannerstands with wheel bases. The total cost was a little over $10k. Meritt Graphics responded to one of my posts and they ended up doing a fantastic job of printing and finishing the banners for us.

The banners are on some of the pics on this website, and there is a video of the entire show towards the bottom of this website, and the middle prop shoots steam periodically throughout the show: http://www.bshbb.org/index.htm

This group of about 200 teenagers ended up the grand champions at one local competition, taking 3rd overall at a multi-state event, and "upperstate champion" and 2nd place overall in the state championship. My son is the one wearing the black and red uniform and the hat with the big feather in it - see if you can pick him out.

Here are some closeups of the props and the army of parents it took to transport and errect them: http://www.bshbb.org/2009-2010/State 5A Marching/5A Upperstate/5A_Upperstate_A1.htm

So now you know what I do with my "spare" time (I did the website also), and I love it. Cant wait til next "marching season".

    Pretty neat.

I have a nephew thats in a high school marching band. They have a huge, elaborate ninja themed program, props, etc.

You guys are so into it nowadays it is like a MC Hammer concert.
