Who does Driv-it repair?

One thing I have been entertaining is the repair of the drivi-it after channel letters are removed. the method now is colored silicone in large hole that does not match.

Let me start off with I HATE DRIVIT! I think it's cheap and after a couple years it fades and is nasty looking. It holds mold in shady spots. Even if it could be repaired I doubnt the repair would match becuse the building itself fades.

Does noyone fix this like it should be done. Our local supplier of drivit will not sell to the general public and contractors i have asked about repairs do not mess with small patches

I have done drivit repairs on site after removal. I keep a gallon of Medium grit white on the truck and a roll of mesh. The holes are small enough not to worry about cutting and replacing styrofoam. I got into it after my helper damaged the side of a building. The damages where minor but the estimates for repairs where insane. they wanted to remove all styrofoam, replace and new skim coating on the wall before final coat. I fixed it myself and saved aproximatly 2200. For repairs, I will not color match unless an extra trip/call/cost is scheaduled.

if you're patching the wall anyways, take a hole saw to it. Just one more hole to patch, AND you can take the sample to sherwin williams to match it for you.

I have actually made a return trip and painted a patch made with the white on a almondy brown colored drivet. I was impressed on how well it came out. I had to return to do it but its better than trying to color match existing dye in the drivet. Its normally dyed to whatever color and sunbleached over time. I carry a ben moore color swatch book for matching colors.
