Who owns their own commercial building?

We moved into our own building 3 years ago after being in another location for 20 years. Best thing ever. Yes, some customers were confused, but we made sure our internet presence had our new address.

Bite the bullet and hire a professional moving company. Every day for several weeks before the move we filled up our dumpster. Movers came on Friday and 8 hours later everything was in the new shop. Staff worked Sat & Sun setting up computers, inventory, showroom. Back up and running on Monday. Hardest part of the move was our router. A separate company did that the same Friday. Better to pay professionals then be "closed" for a week or two. That loss of revenue and momentum would have been bad.

Financially, a great decision - if you can find the right location and price.

We bought ours $400,000, in 2008 right when the recession hit. $1200 per week in payments .Been a hard road but we've only got 2 years left to go before its paid off.
We formed a trust and rented it back to the business and it works well with tax relief in this country anyway
