It's was done for my brother in NH (really his wife ordered it) She says it was done by someone in PA but we were all half tipsy at the time. Nothing signed on the front face and I was not about to take it down.

The reason I was asking is that I swear I've seen it on the net somewhere and thought it was here. I'll have to ask my sister in law.

iam familiar with that area as i went to PENN STATE, Fayette campus 76-78. also spent some time at OHIO-PYLE. beautiful place. lot of revolutionary war memorabilia in that area and most signs are done to reflect that period. FORT NECESSITY, BRADOCK'S GRAVE. also SEVEN SPRINGS, is right there. this is a high end resort/winter ski area. http://www.7springs.com/ and heres a link to OHIO-PYLE.

also near there is frank Lloyd Wrights.......FALLING WATERS. also LAURAL CAVERNS http://www.laurelcaverns.com/ aslo jamonville cross. http://www.fay-west.com/fayette/jumonville/
so expensive signs are the norm for a lotof these places.

Seven Springs isn't too high-end.
hahaha
Was just there a few weeks ago on the ski lift, just to look. No way would I ski or ride that alpine slide thing! Was there last winter with 3' of snow on the ground down by Ohiopyle too.
Glad you found the sign maker, Tony.

Definately hand carved, hand painted. Not routered.

Most likely Spring Valley Signs.

Spring Valley was a part of a religous organisation which comprised:

Sannerz in Denmark.
Clover Signs in UK
Spring Valley Signs in NY and PA
Danthonia in Australia

All excepting Danthonia have closed down - have NOT onsold - so there are no "new owners".

The only one existing at the moment are Danthonia, which exports worldwide.

Not saying the sample is def Spring Valley but definately the closest that I could make a guess at.

Cheers - G

Jill, the locals at 7 Springs were raising hell for the pricing being high. Apparently some rich and famous guy (sports team owner or something like that) bought it and they've seen nothing but prices going up and they didn't like the direction he was taking the place at all.

Having said that, it's still a ton less expensive than we're used to paying.

Now, for the best part, the PA people know how to party without a doubt! Normally at most ski resorts I've been to over the last 30 years, they all say how great their after skiing life is. You always go to the bar, and it's always empty. So I was stunned when I went into the bar there only to see about 400 people in the place. Not a seat around, people standing waiting for seats. People having a blast. Friendly people, just having a good time after a hard day of skiing.

Really pretty area up there too. Pigged out at the Tea Room too :)

Can't wait for winter so we can come back up there.

CES, us PA folks are fun to hang out with even if we are an odd mix of redneck/yuppie/Steelers/Pens fans.
Although I can tell you not to stay at the Log Cabin Motel.
I'm about an hour away from that area, less when I wake up with something crawling on me.
