are you anywahere near the "Michigan dunes" or are there lots of dunes there? I'm from Chicago suburbs & for a few summers, my friends and I used to drive up to party... I mean picnic, at some Michigan dunes...

There are lots of dunes along our coastline. The closest dunes for me would be Warren Dunes in Grand Haven...on the west side of the state...Lake Michigan...awesome place, approx. 3 hours away, I believe.

As a kid, we used to go to Silver Lake and ride on the dune scooters....way too fun for a five year-old.

Come to think of it now...they wouldn't be too impressive on anything less than a dune unless you had one heck of a sand pile.
