I built mine out of aluminum extrusions, a rhino cutting mat, and wooden yard fencing as the table top since the mat is too flexible. Total size is 6'x10'. Cost was maybe $1000?

1/4" plate glass. I draw a grid underneath to help line things up. Cut as much as you want on it. I also do small paint jobs on mine, and just scrape them clean when done. You will go through more knife blades, though!
