Work tabletop Surfaces

I use UHMW 1/4" sheets. The stuff lasts a long time and then you can flip it. Not cheap but well worth it.

We built our own steel leg tables with 3/4" tops and just added the Rhino cutting mats.

Those are very nice tables, is that 2" square tube you used? Do you know where you got the wheels and do they fit right in the end of the square tube?

You can buy self healing cutting mats. Rhino is one brand. You can make your own, but it's probably easier to buy one already made.

Awesome link! Thanks is just what I need.
Have you used this? Is this the same material they make self healing mats out of?
I wonder if after a couple of years of use, when it is cut-up, if you can just mix up enough
to recoat and fill in the cut marks?

Yes they were built with all 2" tubing. For the casters we got threaded casters and welded a plate to the bottom of the tube with a long nut or coupling nut welded in the center of it. Also something I learned in the process was to use "total locking casters" these not only lock the wheel but also the swivel.

we have found that PVC is a great table surface, comes in 48 x 120 sheets make sure you get a minimum of 12mm so you can use both sides of the material
