X CARVE Has anyone tried this?

I am looking into a CNC machine called X CARVE. It is made by Inventables.com. I know that it is more of a home owner type machine but I have never tried doing any type of CNC cutting and found this very interesting. For the price I think that its a good introductory machine :cool1:

Has anyone seen or tried one of these for carving signs?

for cutting plastics, acm and thin aluminum it works great. you can even do 3D on HDU quite easily

you can also use a Dewalt 601 router in the CNC for more power and the X Carve has a plunge depth of 2.5". My friend has just ordered one. I can't wait to see it in action. I will be ordering one soon.

Upgrading to a trim router is a great upgrade - I have the shapeoko 2 and transformed it to a 5 x 8 machine..cuts what i need it to cut! When the time comes I would really really like a Multicam
