X3 slow after using bevel

I just upgraded to X3 yesterday and have been going through and looking at some of the new commands. Imported a eps file with some text and some flames and tried the bevel on the text to see what it looked like. Went to resize it from 100% to 200% and it took 10 or 12 seconds. Seems to work fine on just the eps file without the bevel. Is there something I am missing or is it the bevel.

When you use the bevel tool it turns the vector image into a cropped raster image. I think at about 300DPI if you haven't played with the bevel settings. So basically, if you're trying to re-size some vehicles graphics, your 127KB file can turn into a 750MB file pretty quickly.
