XR-640 Printer manual Required/WTF is going on here.

Hi all,


Just wondering if anyone has seen this before or does anybody have the service manual for the XR-640.
we've pulled the printer apart and cleaned it well. restarted versaworks and been through the usual checklists.

its not only on this image specifically but others as well.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

What's the problem? The yellow splotches or the black bands? Have you tried printing the same image on different media?

Data cables...remove reseat or replace

the issue would be the black bands printing across the print.
we've also run out other jobs with the exact same problem.

so we found that the blue is currently sucking into the other nozzles via the nozzles on the printhead itself.
anybody got any clue now?

Captop Replacement/ Pump Check

I would make sure the cap top is draining completely after a cleaning first. If not, that is your issue. It could be caused by a clogged waste tube or bad pump. Then I would move on to changing the dampers.

In rare cases the membrane inside the head is damaged which could cause the issue as well.
