Also, you can use the check alignment feature before print to adjust any allignment issues.
In Quickplot select save to spool file and then select view spool
In the next screen select file, adjust which will bring up the allignment page where you can test print and adjust/offset the foils...
Hi guys,
If any of you are Rasterlink users I could do with some help.
Mimaki CJV30 running Rasterlink Pro 5 SG.
I can get the white ink to lay down first and then the silver over that but is there a way of reversing the order? So I can lay silver and then white. I would like to achieve as...
I shall try to have a go tomorrow at the gradient version and again update the thread, hopefully with not too drastic an outcome :D
Yes, especially coming from inkjet/illustrator and what you see is what you get more or less :)
Indeed, there are all sorts of nice keyboard shortcuts. shift+F3 I find myself using a lot with the spot colour graphics I do.
The inlining tool alt+shift+1
Shame there isn't a comprehensive list of all the shortcuts. (although probably is one?? just not seen it while looking through the...
Well, quick test on the standard one and worked well :) I guess I am going in the right direction...for now :)
Have attached a couple pics showing the opacity, chrome/orange overlap etc.
Will try to get this right...
I set the black to overprint, then created a small inline on the chrome...
Yeh, they seem to have some interesting features and a combination of a few could turn your current Illustrator in to something not far off the latest CC version by the looks of it, but without a crazy subscription based payment.
Thanks for the response.
This would have a cut line where the outer colour/line is but I was just ignoring that factor for the time being as I just wanted to focus on the layout of the decal itself and creating it properly with decent opacity (white backing) as it would be on clear vinyl.
Kind...
Curious to know how everyone would go about doing this.
I have attached a couple examples (was going to upload the PLT file but am unable to unfortunately). One with black, fluoro orange, chrome and the other with a black/white gradient instead of the chrome.
On the chrome one would you...
Thanks J Hill. I had assumed that was what was happening but wanted to ask.
Although perhaps not quite as convincing a 'fade', this is an example of the sort of thing I was thinking of.
I just wondered if there was a way to replace the white with another colour or any way of altering the amount...
How would I go about doing a halftone fade between two spot colours so that those two are the only colours used?
As you can see in the example it inserts white dots also.
Kind regards,
Jon
I like your logo in the first post although surely either the dog lettering or the dog itself should be blue? :D
Also, a lot of major names have nothing to do with their subject and is just about advertising. Moonpig for example is a massive card/flower etc seller here and what on Earth does...
One problem 'solved', another one shows up..what sort of guillotine.
Something like this

Or one more like this...
Hehe, indeed.
I haven't used the perf fucntion on my cutter yet so do not know what sort of finish it provides.
I cannot imagine it is too kind on blades though!
Thanks guys.
Would perf cut A4 sheets be suitable for them to run through their office printer though..??
Yeh, I thought about doing it that way Mosh, then using a guillotine or such.
Just wanted to know if there were any more efficient and accurate ways and/or how others may go about it.
Hi Gang,
Had a bit of a look around the forum but couldn't see anything.
I had a request from someone today regarding some decals/labels. They buy their labels in in A4 sheets, with 2 labels per sheet. (label covers whole area and has a single contour cut across the middle)
Which they can then...
Thanks for chiming in guys, hopefully this could be a good thread for people new to canvas printing when we get some more experienced people in here..
Yes, first couple for me were washed out until applying an overprint. I have yet to try more than a 2 overprint but will try at some point as...
Hi Gang,
I have had several canvas requests recently and so got a few bits in (media, bars etc)
Are there any general canvas profiles recommended for the Mimaki CJV?
Also, do you guys have any tips for getting consistent & accurate results? It just seems really tricky to get the...
