When I worked for a large commercial printing company the favorites were Desk Calendars and notepads. then wall calendars.

Have you thought about getting spinners

We print Coozies. These are the ones that fold flat for easy storage. We screen print them in-house. People seem to hold on to them for quit a long time.
they fit Water Bottles, Cans, etc.. Has worked out really well for us. But besides signs and stuff we also do apparel screen printing in-house.
