  • I see you have a lot of post about printers ... I can make 2 queries?
I made a can to put under the capping area and heads resting on liquid solvent to try to uncover ... you see bad idea?
On the other hand .. that experience you had with Chinese printers? that prices are to think very seriously.

thank you very much for your help
Artbot, been reading some of your comments. I have a mutoh 1204, had clogged lines on drainage. I pulled this apart from the top and am not exactly sure where the 3 lines from the bottom of the cap station go to. I have the (2) in the middle going to the pump and the one of to the side going to the opposite end of the cap station underneath. Curious if you have a schematic or can verify my connections and how they should be laid out? I had recently purchased this machine and the nozzle checks had missing segments on the Black (only), trying to resolve this issue. Keep up the good fight - Best
After I removed the blue and black printhead, it is no longer working. I may or may not have unplug the power cord. I remember doing it, but not sure now. When I swapped the ribbon cable with the yellow and magenta, it worked but caused the other printhead not to work. So I know it is not a printhead issue. I found 3 fuses, 2 on one board and 1 on another. Both fuses are good. Can you please advise? Please email howsimple@gmail.com Thanks Keith
Hi artbot, have a problem with my 160s. got a 07 error on LC head one night and next morning printer won't power up. Power button lights up solid green and LCD may flick on once then out again. Theres a flashing red led on the I02 PCB board which i think was solid green before this happened. A friend tested power going into the PSU and its receiving 240v but its not supplying voltage to the mainboard. He thinks the PSU is fine but is under the impression the printer has gone into some kind of safe mode and the flashing red LED on the IO PCB board is like an alarm protecting the PSU from supplying voltage to the mainboard.
Hi, Alan, you are here, nice to meet you! I'm looking for a place to say hello to everyone.
I have a mimaki jv3 and my brand new cyan print head that was installed was printing grainy/dull when I printed just cyan so I talked with a tech who recommended a ribbon switch and that really didn't help out but now the magenta I swapped it with prints magenta in odd spots. I have a photo of it I can send to you and maybe you would be able to provide me with some info on what might be the problem.
Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed looking at your Art Work.
Very nice, Well done, and where do you show.
I read you have everything for a mimaki jf-1631? How can I get the tech manual and whatever else you have other than the crappy operation and set up manual that came with it?! Thanks!
hello art im new to the forum i run 2 mimaki jv33 for sublimation printing. recently i noticed about 15 random spaces in my number 7 blue channel on the testdraw ,ive cleaned and several nozzlewashes also ive flushed this channel with a syringe & cleaning solution but still the same 15 blank spaces ,i also switched the dampers & still the spaces are in the number 7 channel,we print sportswear and print is good except for an occasional problem with green..any suggestions, thankyou
Hey man, someone in one of the forums recommended you for a problem I am having with my Roland CJ-60 cutter/printer. I just got it used from a sign place, it's been sitting for 3 years and when I started it up (it's currently not hooked up to anything) I got beeps and a "Capping Error Turn off Power" message after the startup process. They told me you had knowledge with these machines. I am not looking to print with this at all, I just want to use it as a cutter. Can you help? Is there a way to bypass the entire printing mechanism and just get it running as a cutter? Thanks so much.
Hi Artbot, I notice from a response you've sent to someone else that you have the technicians manual for the Mimaki JF1631. I would love a copy if possible as i'm looking at changing the a couple of print heads without having to sell a kidney to pay mimaki to do it.
    Thanks

hey mate.. I'm downloading the jv33 bible you uploaded.. but in the meantime I have a question. While printing the past 2 days I've noticed tiny magenta drops at random spots. It will drop at the same time every time it passes by, but then after cleaning it stops and starts a while later at another spot. As far as I know this is due to air leaking in my dumper.. but I don't know which magenta dumper has the problem and how to fix it. So far I simply opened the head protector and made sure that the dumpers are well in their place, but that's all.
I have two mutoh printers, one falcon outdoor 62 and one valuejet 1214. Both have not run in over one year. Both of them had problems prior to moth balling them. Can you please tell me if its possible to bring my printers back to life.
Hello Artbot, Would you have a copy of the JV5 Service manual? Would be much appreciated man. Thanks.

Hey artbot, you seem pretty darn knowledgeable on wide format printing. I am thinking of moving to a bulk ink system for my jv33-160 solvent printer. Any thoughts? Good idea? Bad idea?
    Hi Art
I have read some of your postings and replies to posts.
I am impressed with your knowledge of the printers and how they work!
I would like your input on a conversion I am doing. I am converting a jv2 to either sepiax or uv ink.
From my understanding sepiax will work but requires alot of heat.
I plan on printing on coroplast, so I think it might be to hot for the material.
Will uv ink go through dx2 heads?
Also what are you using for a rip? You seem to be able to seperate colors and heads, ect. I would greatly appreciate the help on learning how you do that.
    Thanks Bruce
    Hello artbot,

My Name is Ruben with TSi Events in Tempe, AZ We have a Mimaki JV33-160 and have like 4 whit ink cartridges that the machine said were emty but when shaken there is still a lot left. I have read previous post about permanent white ink chips where can I purchase them? Also you mentioned running clear inks until you need to print white. Do you just replace chip on a flush cartidge with white ink chip? I would greatly appreciate any help.

    Best Regards,
    Ruben
