I wouldn't try that. As soon as the ink comes in contact with air it starts to thicken. Plus, you may introduce dust, etc which could block nozzles.

I'm looking at a latex printer (not HP). Are these general characteristics of latex?

The solution to this is to replace both power boards AT THE SAME TIME. It took Epson 11 weeks to puzzle out our printer. The repair is clearly stated in the manual — and it's clear that both boards must be replaced at the same time.

Hi All, I'm having a dispute with the agency that repairs our Epson 40610. So I need to download the NVRAM file and check the head shot count (the agency refuse to do it for us). Does anyone have the program to do it? Or advice? Many thanks, Stephen

That's how a head failure looks. Perfect — then a blocked nozzle — then 2 or 3 — then more (especially if the same nozzles remain blocked). And you think it can't be the head — you hope it's not the head. You look for other solutions — you find people who say it isn't the head. You are hopeful...

So they replaced all 4 parts as mentioned above. Still has the same error. Any idea what Epson (or any other manufacturer's) obligation is to fix a printer? What do they do if they can't fix it?

We use Mac only. Except for the RIP to run our Epson 40600 — it has the Windows OS and the RIP software on it — nothing else. We almost never have computer related issues.

We have M1s and Intel and the M1s work as well (or better than) the Intels. My advice is to get someone to look at the M1 — it should work perfectly on the network and when saving large files — or at the very least, reformat and reinstall the software — that should fix any issues. We used to run an Espon GS6000. The prints were amazingly sharp — but then it became obsolete (inks became too expensive and parts were impossible to find) so we replaced it with an Epson 40600. It's not an important post for the general user — but I would like to clarify that while I am not a fan of PartServe's service — the technician is a great guy. He is very careful and meticulous. If he wasn't I wouldn't let him near the machine. ;o)
