  1. Question Cast Laminate on Wood?

Thanks Johnny.... So does this basically mean that I'm removing the 'factory seal' and applying my own?
  2. Question Cast Laminate on Wood?

If it's already sealed, would it make a difference? Wouldn't the new sealant obtain scratches just like the factory-finish does? Same thing with waxes I suppose: the wax finish would pick up scratches I'd imagine --- is it something where you sand it down and then reapply every few years? I do...
  3. Question Cast Laminate on Wood?

I should have said: I want to avoid using PVC mats, not PE mats.
  4. Question Cast Laminate on Wood?

I recently acquired a nice wood coffee table that I'd like to keep for a long time. Over the last month that I've had it I've started to notice tiny little scratches on the surface. It's mostly only visible in certain angles of direct light, but over time it will only get worse. The girlfriend...
  5. Experienced opinions HP115 Latex Printer?

ShoNuff, Sounds like you're right on the money when it comes to knowing what you'll be needing, at least in the near to mid future! I think a 115 P&C is a great place to start. It has the ability to do one-off projects just as easily as you can run full "production runs" (assuming you get the...
  6. Experienced opinions HP115 Latex Printer?

Also i should mention that if and when you DO get a serious head-strike it's a LOT more palatable to spend 115 bucks (or is it 125 i forget) on a new head than 2200 plus the cost of a technician to come out and install it. As a frequent user i LOVE the ability to replace heads for a small cost...
  7. Experienced opinions HP115 Latex Printer?

I'm a little bit biased as an HP Dealer (but we are also Mimaki dealers and in the past have sold tons of Epsons and Rolands...) but the 115's are awesome. For the price, they are certainly tough to beat. As an entry-level machine, user installed, easy to run, super easy to maintain, can print...
  8. HELP VINYL LETTERING NOT STICKING TO WALLS!!

Use some alcohol on the wall, with a brillo pad. You need to essentially strip the paint of glycols before most adhesives will stick. (New paints are much better for the environment, but kinda of a PITA for adhesive applications.) Regular isopropyl alcohol will work but ideally you want to use...
  9. New Ford Aluminum Trucks - No Magnets - Options?????

Hah, my pleasure! Call anytime, I'm happy to shoot the stuff with you all day. Makes me feel productive ;) Glad your customers are happy with iDot!
  10. What would you do....?

I fully, 100% endorse being "the bearded guy from Gans" btw!! And, to Johnny's point --- he's totally right. Best thing to do would be to grab a bit of XBase, slap that on a foam board, and BOOM you now have a perfect place to keep your iDot door decals between uses!
  11. What would you do....?

That's a bummer! Like everyone else said, best to just eat it in this case ............ BUT, there's a solution: :) -jk
  12. Seeking material recommendation!

If you can't get a hold of BigFish (he's traveling) try hitting up his main office at 800-421-6167. You can ask for Jordan, BigFish's right-hand-man!
  13. iDot instead of car magnets

Today is Day 19 and the iDot still looks great, IMO. Between the dust/smoke in the air, going 85 on the freeway, temps into the 30's at night (forming a nice dew layer on occasion) and daytime temps up to the mid-80's (which means the car door itself, in the afternoon sun, must get pretty darn...
  14. Hi from Los Angeles.... Traffic is B!#%....

Welcome to the forum from a native Angelino! -jk
  15. iDot instead of car magnets

I would say (living in Southern California where it can be a tad difficult to test in extreme weather) that it might be a little tougher to install in sub-freezing temperatures. That being said, it should hold up very well in those temps (once it's on) and at the end of the day it's designed, at...
