  1. Need Help onyx12 is there a way to use 4 colors only while ripping ?

I have been profiling in Onyx for 16 years. Perhaps the printers I have used have not offered a print mode that doesn't use Lc and Lm and Lk when ripping CMYK. But there has never been an option to not use the light versions of CMYK available. If it's really avilable but not in an apparent...
  2. Epson S40 new user

Are you talking about the vinyl clamping lever? If so, you should release it any time you're not using it. And yes, it will do self maintenance whether the vinyl is clamped or not.
  3. Need Help onyx12 is there a way to use 4 colors only while ripping ?

In Onyx 12 when you build a profile using only CMYK, it still uses the Lc and Lm.
  4. Need Help onyx12 is there a way to use 4 colors only while ripping ?

No. There is not. If you had a printer with other colors like orange or red you can create a Quickset with those colors not included. But there is no option for not using the Lc and Lm.
  5. Constant or use based humidification

I use a portable humidifier (not a vaporizer) that has its own automatic control. During the season when the heat is on a lot and humidity is low, we run it all day. When I leave at night I fill it up; typically it runs out by morning. I refill it when I come in and by the time I finish reading...
  6. Advice please ( New Zealand)

    49. Odd number to choose. On further reflection, 125 dpi converts to 49 dpcm
  7. Sign Install...

Not so sure I'd depend on that. I remember driving by a big landscape stone provider one winter day and seeing a guy from a competitor's shop up on a lift installing vinyl lettering on the existing sign in 35 degree weather. The day before had been warm, over 60. But that night a cold front was...
  8. Sign Install...

I'd consider making a new sign to just attach over the old, leaving an inch and a half or two inches of the cream color as a border. The new sign would have a different color background. Then you can just show up with the new sign, screw it on, rivet it on, VHB tape it on, whichever you please...
  9. Here's a funny layout request.

You can either explain to them that they are looking at point size on their computer screen at what is likely 8"x11.5" and when you go up to the actual size sign the letters need to scale up accordingly, or you can redraw the sign to scale, using the 48 pt and smaller type and send it for a...
  10. Possible to wrap in one piece?

Even if it's one piece, the OP photo shows a seam line where a seam in the wrap would be fine.
  11. Possible to wrap in one piece?

The engine cover and wheel well are separate pieces. They have a seam because the hood raises. No need to do that in one piece.
  12. Question What kind of vinyl for heavy machinery decals and WHERE do I buy it??

You don't need anything special. Just high quality vinyl like you'd use for any vehicle lettering. Even if it's used, and especially if it's just been repainted. We've been doing this 30 years and have not seen a need for anything special.
  13. instead of drilling corrugated warehouse for 23" Gemini formed plastic - CAN I TRUST SILICONE & PAD MOUNT ONLY?

I've done lots of installations on metal buildings like that using just 100% clear silicone and pads. You have to use enough silicone that it squeezes up through the holes in the pad when you press the letter on, and then use masking tape to hold the letters on until the silicone sets.
  14. Suggestions for tape to apply paper pattern to stucco in cold weather

Stucco duct tape. You can get it at a paint store. We used it on our recent Gemini letter job on a stucco wall. Don't have a picture of the taped up pattern, but it worked perfectly even though it was not only cool but windy. This was the job:
  15. Paneling a 20'x12' sign

Hopefully you printed the panels with a 2" overage all around. Start with the middle panel of the middle row. Mount the print as perfectly as you can & trim it. Then place the neighboring 4x8 butted against it on your easel or table. Line up the print so that it is aligned with the already...
  16. Paneling a 20'x12' sign

Is that from industrial/construction suppliers rather than sign suppliers?
  17. Paneling a 20'x12' sign

I have never seen 12' sheet goods offered for sale. I think the old-fashioned way of doing this would be a pair of 4x10s across the bottom and 5 4x8s vertically above them.
  18. Can't find this font. Help, please

Cause we just finished it this morning.
  19. Can't find this font. Help, please

Thanks. We already finished the job with a different font.
