  2. What should I learn from this?

You shouldn't be using intermediate vinyl for your boat licenses and names either. The chalking paint is an issue, but most customers aren't going to get the truck repainted, and I have seen the lettering hold a long time on old box trucks.

No straight cuts on this one. There will be about 12" on the left and right edges which will remain straight from the 24x36 blank I can buy. The rest is all compound curves. And Hall Signs finally got back to me and can do it. So thanks to garyroy for suggesting them.

  17. Staining of fiberglass from vinyl

The real question in my mind is what caused it to happen on this boat and was it preventable. I've never seen this happen before, and if there is a preventable cause, I'd like to know about. Like, was it due to a certain kind of vinyl? I quizzed the owner, and it was solid colored vinyl, not a...
  18. Staining of fiberglass from vinyl

We're not doing it. We have the customer contact their detailer or dealer to handle it. On this one I told the customer they may have to sand off the surface until the staining is gone and have the gelcoat redone if the staining is deep.
  19. Routed .080" aluminum sign blank supplier

I can get that kind of blank as a standard item from Grimco. This is a custom shape to look like an old timey sign. Not a traffic sign.
