  1. If you're on Verizon... you just got...

Harbor Freight announced a few days ago that they're donating their entire stock of N95 masks, face shields and nitrile gloves to hospitals. Thought that was cool of them.
  2. Well, they agree.. checks for everyone

Might have already been mentioned, but they said on the news that the checks are only for individuals making $75,000 or less or for families making $150,000 or less
  3. "Essential Critical Infrastructure" & "Critical Trades"

GameStop was arguing that they provide 'critical' supplies since they also sell computer accessories that people working from home may need - it wasn't because they provided entertainment. Yes, this law firm has a few hundred nameplates and room ID signs that are certainly not essential. And...
  4. "Essential Critical Infrastructure" & "Critical Trades"

Perhaps it's not. I'm not being argumentative. I started this thread to shake the bushes and get the exact kind of responses I'm getting. I want to hear the reasoning from others that aren't biased like I might be. In my original post, I tried to clearly lay out the guidelines and then why I...
  5. "Essential Critical Infrastructure" & "Critical Trades"

There are an awful lot of assumptions in your response. I have zero worries about being dumped by any of my customers and money is certainly not my primary concern. And you certainly don't know what I've "decided to do". Read back through my posts. As I just mentioned, I've postponed a number...
  6. "Essential Critical Infrastructure" & "Critical Trades"

To be clear, if there's a Shelter in Place issued, I don't think it's a good idea to go by paint and mulch for home projects. I was simply saying I could see how someone could (falsely) reason that what they're doing is ok.
  7. "Essential Critical Infrastructure" & "Critical Trades"

"Residential and Commercial Construction" doesn't include new construction? What kind of reasoning is that? I didn't leave anything out - I included that excerpt in my opening post. I'm not making anything fit what I want it to be. I've already taken the initiative and postponed jobs that would...
  8. "Essential Critical Infrastructure" & "Critical Trades"

True. The danger is there. I guess I was thinking if someone was vigilant and took precautions, it could be done (wipe TouchPad down with wipes after using, etc).
  9. "Essential Critical Infrastructure" & "Critical Trades"

Agreed. And for what it's worth, I certainly wouldn't use any of the guidelines as an excuse to to do any and all installs out there. There are definitely installs that don't qualify as "critical" and I'll decline to do those. But even for the trades following the guidelines, there are going to...
  10. "Essential Critical Infrastructure" & "Critical Trades"

Yeah, I can see people thinking "we're about to be stuck at home for three weeks or more, let's go buy paint/mulch/whatever and get some projects done". They also probably reason they can do so without interacting with anyone since they can use self-checkout. Certainly not "Essential"...
  11. "Essential Critical Infrastructure" & "Critical Trades"

The example I listed is new construction. I'm certainly not rewriting the rules. I was careful to quote the guidelines. "Residential and Commercial Construction" is specifically listed as "Critical Infrastructure" as are the trades required to complete that construction. Some trades are...
  12. "Essential Critical Infrastructure" & "Critical Trades"

For me personally, the answer to all of these is questions is yes. My installs rarely require interaction with anyone on site. I am a sole proprietor. No employees.
  13. "Essential Critical Infrastructure" & "Critical Trades"

Writing this from the research gathered as one who only installs signs. I don't manufacture. I don't have vendors that manufacture. I don't sell anything. I strictly install. Despite the impending Shelter in Place order, I have a number of customers (sign companies) still wanting their signs...

  15. Anyone running a home project?

Edit... I botched what I originally wrote, but long story short, I would think you would want to remove the existing treads and rip the new treads to the proper depth so the nose doesn't extend past the stair skirt.
  16. Question Caulk / Silcone Tube Gun

I've been using this for quite a while. Primarily because the push rod end has a nice round hook which works well when hanging on ladders, aerial lift buckets/cages, carts, etc. Quality is great. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DZP27Q2/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_W6awEb4621TF3
  17. Suggestions anyone use laser measuring device?

The enhancing glasses help significantly with visibility in bright conditions.
  18. Suggestions anyone use laser measuring device?

I use the Bosch GLM 50 CX. It's crazy accurate...down to 1/16" or even 1/32". I regularly check it against a tape measure to ensure its accurate.
  19. 3D Sign Foam Letters

Not sure how far up the coast you want to go, but Howmac makes a great product.
  20. Digging in North / Central Texas

Ah.....why the post then? I guess I'm missing something.
