  1. Mesh banners tearing in wind

The real problem is that they are trying to use temporary promotional banners as a tennis court windscreen. If they want durability along with a printed message on their windscreens, they need to be using the right product. https://allcourtfabrics.com/product/tennis-windscreens/ It will cost...
  2. FONT ID

Nokian Viral Linen Kir Jasin Is it that simple?
  3. Customer put my road sign on a 40' pole

A 4'x6' on a 40' pole? Can you even see the sign, much less read it, when you are driving down the street?
  4. Shop charge for laminating customer supplied lam.

You can't charge anything less than your hourly shop rate.
  5. Question Color + White + Color on Epson S80600

It's color-white color. You use it to print on clear vinyl that is either going to be applied to glass so the picture can be seen from both sides, or to white plexiglass faces to give better transmitted light color saturation without too-dark colors from double strike printing.
  6. Question Color + White + Color on Epson S80600

I don't think it's a machine thing. It's in the RIP. Although I don't have the newest version, I have been unable to get Onyx to do it. Unfortunately there's not a lot of help with doing layers. The RIP people won't really help and Epson says talk to the RIP people.

  8. Client Error wants Warranty

Unless you offered a warranty against stone chipping, there's nothing to warranty. Your warranty should only be against manufacturer product defect and workmanship defect. Stone chipping is not something wrap vinyl is designed to resist. In fact, it should be part of the customer discussion...
  9. Easy to match colors with onyx?

Trial and error is the only way, and getting a satisfactory compromise is the best you can do.
  10. Client Error wants Warranty

How did he chip through it? Chisel, pocketknife?
  11. Kawasaki Green

You can actually come close with PMS 369. But it really depends on the year of Kawasaki and/or brand and batch of plastic. The plastics are not all the same color, and Kawasaki changes it from time to time. Years ago we could use PMS 376, but now that's too bright.
  12. Cold-weather silicone for exterior Gemini/stud installs?

We use GE clear Advanced Silicone 2. The purpose of sealant when installing Gemini letters is not to glue the letter to the wall, but to seal the hole. The studs will hold the letter to the wall by friction alone. The silicone will enhance that, and prevent water intrusion into the substrate...
  13. Suggestions Supplier for Router-cut ACP

Looking for a supplier of custom router-cut 6mm aluminum composite panel sign blanks. I browsed the merchant area but it doesn't seem any of them do this. Anyone know of a good one? I've searched and there are none within a reasonable drive of us.
  14. CorelDRAW Upgrade Protection Program Is Ending

One of the new features of Corel365 is supposed to be integration of Google fonts
  15. BEWARE of South Water Signs

They owe us too. Installed an HR Block sign for them. But the sign was damaged in shipping and required the replacement of a couple of letters. They sent them and we changed them out but they never paid for the repair labor even though they sent us a purchase order for it.
  16. CorelDRAW Upgrade Protection Program Is Ending

Other than the obvious revenue stream of Corel365 (which they are getting from UPP subscribers), it appears to me that the practical reason they need to change the software and subscription has to do with new cloud based services. When I look at the feature grid for the new products, it is some...
  17. Vinyl, stencil or freehand these signs?

Except that for him in Nova Scotia it's ACA compliance.
  18. Calendered vinyl with a good shine?

Avery 750 is nice and glossy. But in short supply right now.
  19. Polished edges on acrylic

What are you making from your acrylic? Things like room number signs where the edge is in view? The quickest way of dealing with the edges is a sanding block. And then you don't have the potential fragility that flame polishing causes. You said you're mostly using 18x24 and 24x36. Signs that...
  20. Question IS GRIMCO LIKE THIS WITH EVERYTHING?

I don't have any issue with pricing from Grimco, no problems with variable pricing. However, before I ever placed an order with them, way long ago when I started in business, I opened a credit account with them. Now, I get my pricing all the time, whether I call them or just order online. And...
