  1. My new Sign Installation Command Center (aka SICC) vehicle...haha...

Do you mean the black and yellow boxes? Those are Dewalt Tstak boxes and run around $26 each. Of course!
  2. My new Sign Installation Command Center (aka SICC) vehicle...haha...

Thanks guys...I'm happy with it. Just need to color-matched the front bumper.
  3. Decorative street post production, removal and installation bid

You bet. I got the jacks from Harbor Freight...they've held up pretty well.
  4. Decorative street post production, removal and installation bid

I've done a few and it's a piece of cake. Just need to set the jacks on a 2x10 chunk of wood or similar or they'll sink into the ground.
  5. My new Sign Installation Command Center (aka SICC) vehicle...haha...

Yeah, I think it was JetRack. WeatherGuard also makes one and I think one other company. All similar concepts that accomplish the same thing. I'm up in the air on whether or not to wrap it. I may just opt for a magnet that's cut to fit in the recessed area on each side. That way I can remove it...
  6. Decorative street post production, removal and installation bid

With the right setup, you can remove an existing post in about 5 minutes. The attached is what I use. Drill a hole in the post, run a bolt through it and the angle iron, and jack it out of the ground. Almost zero effort is required - the hardest part is carrying the removed post and base to your...
  7. My new Sign Installation Command Center (aka SICC) vehicle...haha...

It's a gas 2.0l 4cyl, turbo. Moves pretty good for what it is and makes decent/sufficient hp/tq (208/258). The torque is reached at a pretty low rpm, so should be nice for the occasional tow job. No bolt-on bucket boom lol, but I will be adding an interior roof-mounted ladder rack to clear up...
  8. My new Sign Installation Command Center (aka SICC) vehicle...haha...

Picked this up on Saturday. Figured since this is basically set up for installations, I would post this here in case anyone else is in the market for something similar. For me it's just about the perfect vehicle for the type of sign installs I do. It will hold 4x8 sheet material, has a cargo...
  9. Need a Vendor Capable of Producing These Signs

Other than 'dark on light' and 'light on dark', there are no longer requirements for contrast difference - just suggestions.
  10. New aluminum big sqeegee= wow!

Is there a thread with pics of the new squeegee? Nevermind, just found it. Here's a link to the page on Dale's site: http://www.bigsqueegee.com/aluminum_.html
  11. April Fools?

There's that... Not for me they wouldn't be lol... The studs are clean/painted, letters are new. Someone was just careless. Yeah, might be related to the customers budget, I really don't know. Maybe they wanted quick and dirty. No, it was the original box, labels, etc. Just carelessness.
  12. April Fools?

If they had manufactured the letters for me, yes, I would have been livid. But these are for a customer of theirs here locally, so there's really no reason for me to be upset about it. They're just going to have to remake them and resend them. The install wasn't scheduled for a couple more weeks...
  13. April Fools?

If I didn't know better, I would think that's about the only explanation. I'll preface this by saying it's not a reflection on the manufacturer...more on the numbskull who decided this was the best way to ship these. These were shipped to me from an out of state sign company for a local...
  14. New to me...

If you grind them off and then remove the sign, aluminum angle or whatever else the anchor goes through, you still have the anchor sticking out of the wall. Sometimes the holes were drilled deep enough to hammer them in, sometimes they weren't. For most of the customers I deal with, they'd...
  15. Just for discussion...

If it's 'landscape' oriented vinyl (wider than it is tall), I typically use the third way you illustrated, except I prefer to hinge on the right and work right to left. If it's 'portrait' oriented vinyl (taller than it is wide), I typically use the first way you illustrated, except I'll often...
  16. New to me...

Yep, hammer-set anchors. As mentioned, drill the expander drive pin (in the center) out. It's pretty easy to do with a good bit. Then pry out the anchor. The hole will likely be ¼" diameter. Concrete patch in a Ziploc bag with the corner cut off makes for a good applicator.
  17. Installing 1/4" PVC Letters

If it's in drywall, I use a tiny brad nail to mark the corners of the letters. It's quick and it's dead-on accurate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fsgv8-ZA-hk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=654ZBLbx2lE
  18. No More Gemini For Us

The pattern is on you, the letters should be on them. They shouldn't flake like that. Call and talk to/ask for someone else.
