I get a lot of 3rd party files that use overprint fills. Luckily I can use my macro in CorelDRAW to remove all overprints. But I question are they really necessary?

Uh...they just sent a new version of their logo and you'll never guess! Color values are more off than before. Now their eps file reads Pantone 144 C, C11 M55 Y100 K1, Hex #DE8703. I told 'em we'll use the cmyk values and you get what you get. lol
Also sent them a snip from their own guidelines...
A RIP is like a glorified print queue. Prints can be stored there to allow you to change various medias as needed. You can also assign specific print profiles for those various medias. Really not that hard to learn.

Ha, deal with it everyday. Here lately been getting a lot of files designed in Canva and Canvas. Both programs have the ability to save as pdf but no one does. I have to explain to them why we're not printing their file.

We do banners all day long. Double face hem tape w/grommets, no sewing. Been doing it for years without complaint. If we need to do a banner that requires adherence to DOT guidelines we outsource it. We also used a local upholstery shop if a stitched hem was needed but they have since retired.
We use what we call "hood laminate" (3M 8528). It helps for vinyl wraps on horizontal surfaces i.e. hoods. 10 years? Don't know about that. I wouldn't guarantee anything for that long.
We never go straight to print with 3rd party files. Why? Because 98% of the time they aren't sized anywhere near their requested size.
