Just like many Chilton manuals for working on your own cars. Oh, here we go, "How to remove the alternator". Page 5-86 "Step 1. Remove Alternator" the end.
Guess I fall into that old fart category. With that said, our company reprints all the time. We never "seam" a vehicle wrap unless it's absolutely necessary. Clients often ask why we don't just print the pdf as given. Uh...there are several words misspelled and it's often quicker for us to...
Just thought I'd provide an update to this. After receiving the first file for this project 2 weeks later I called a meeting with the manager of the project. The file I was sent is a jpg. So many wrongs on it I couldn't list here. Turns out the "designer" is a new hire with "marketing"...
Ticks me off that they probably make way more $$ than me too! Usually when a client says they had a designer do something for them and I find out that they don't have a vector or at least a higher res file, I tell the client they should fire the designer!
Fire those that make 2GB files too! lol
I'm usually pretty good about "dummy proofing" things but apparently I missed the mark on this one. I apologize for any sarcasm/snide remarks.
Yes, I did mean the whole gray word cloud bit. I found that image from another sign shop that had done the wrap and emailed them to see if they could...
We use trello solely for tracking orders from start to finish. Everyone can see the process from their own workstation. In for proof design, in to email client, in waiting for approval, in approved, in for print to specific substrate, in for laminate, in for application, in for vehicle install...
Got a request from a client for pop-up banners. Banners are approx. 36"w x 80"h. They have their own art department to create the designs. That's all fine just convert the fonts and save as pdf.
Get a call a week or so later from the artist. "How do you want these files sent, they're 2GB"
What...
We print to paper all the time but ALL are laminated with either matte or luster. Paper also works best when laminated and applied to 3/4" black foamboard/Gatorboard. Straight vinyl tends to shrink over time.
Classic fail on the attachment. Linked images & fonts not outlined. Never really understood why people link images. I'm sure in rare cases it's a good thing but...
And ALWAYS outline fonts. Other than that I see nothing in the file that would cause the issue.
We're getting ready to do a 40ft stucco wall wrap using 3M 8524 with 8526 laminate. We used this same "combo" on several buildings in town. Lasts for 7-10 years.
If a customer "approves" then calls back after it's printed to make changes they're still charged for the prints. Sometimes the print can start as early as 5min upon approval. The sales team gets approval, pulls up the card in trello and moves it to the approved list. The designer assigned to...
