I (carefully) wrapped a gooey roller in vinyl as a temporary solution. It seemed to cut OK, especially with synthetic liner vinyl (3M 7725, sandblast mask). But I ordered a new roller from Plotter Docter right away.
I also had the "bail arm" (not sure if that's what it's called--it's the arm...
I've used Krylon matte clear sprays, especially the Fusion line. Several light passes--too heavy and the vinyl can "wrinkle" along the edges while it's on the release liner.
2 questions--Anyone know who supports Mimaki in Iowa? Bought printer from Midwest Sign 4 years ago, then Grimco bought Midwest and I'm not sure they service Mimaki.
I hadn't used printer for a week, then printed a job and noticed reds weren't right. Did a test print and no yellow in one band...
Did anyone check their website? They belong to ISA, Illinois Sign Assn, BBB and have a D&B rating. Everyone that's been shafted by them should be reporting them. Maybe a ding in their ratings will get them paying.
We've had excellent results with Gardz (all big box stores carry it). It's a raw drywall primer, but it dries clear and cast vinyl (haven't tried calendared) sticks well to it. It will change the sheen of the wall slightly, so generally the entire wall has to be treated.
Might not be the driver's fault. If he hit a bad bump maybe a bunch of them "turned on" and the resulting vibrations had the same effect as the suspension going bad.
