  1. Never had this question asked before..............................................................................

Tell them you handle the wrap, not the caulk. (see what I did there?) We've never had a customer ask that - When trailers come in with a ton of caulk...we let the customer know they can remove it all, or we can remove it all for XX per hour... usually it adds a grand or two in labor to the...
  2. Anybody use 3m HIP 100yd rolls?

100 yds are also a month out aren't they? Unless USA sold out of 50 yd and 100 is all that's left... Hip is a 21 day turn around now instead of the usual 7 days... Still not as bad as 7725. We're still waiting on some deliveries from November... That said for white, there's 9 48" rolls...
  3. Cartridge recycling?

Cartridges (at least latex) get recycled. HP re uses them.- it's cheaper for them to reuse than to buy a new one, so it's in their interest to. Same with the gs3 Epson inks, I know Epson reuses there's as well - I had a family.member that worked at staples.when they just started their recycle...
  4. Need Help Need help selecting laminator used only for applying transfer tape

Its the same reason you get wrinkles if your laminator isn't perfectly even. When stuff is weeded away, your roll is no longer perfectly flat - if you leave an inch or two on each side that's unweeded, it helps it have equal pressure. That's another thing we've done before.... We cut...
  5. Need Help Need help selecting laminator used only for applying transfer tape

We had a job where we needed to laminate about 30 rolls last year. I bought one of those manual crank hand laminators off eBay for $100 - and then I mounted the roll of premask above the manual laminator. That then fed into the manual laminator... And we put the vinyl through and just rolled...
  6. Anybody use 3m HIP 100yd rolls?

I wouldn't.... We have a hard enough time loading 50 yd rolls. That stuffs crazy heavy. I can't see a benefit to it, it's the same sqft price through 3m (at least for us) and having to load / unload.... Unless you're printing 600 ft at once. On which case unless you have a beefy laminator...
  7. What would you pay? What employees are worth.

If you're taking orders, dealing with clients, doing installs, CNC work, painting, operating all the printing equipment, doing all fabrication..you're not an installer. I started in the same position, doing just digital printing... Now I bounce around and do everything above where / when...
  8. can i get away with 30inch printer?

If you plan on printing full vehicle wraps with a 30"... Id say no. It won't even be wide enough to do a door without a seem... You can get away with seeming certain areas, but if you have to seem every door, the hood twice, trunk twice, it'll look like a hack job. If you're just printing...
  9. Does it make sense to buy HP with this quality of support?

Yes, but a 15 minute drive is a heck of a lot better than losing customers
  10. 3M IJ 180C on block wall

Back during COVID we had a job putting up stall numbers on 100ish parking spots in a garage using concrete walls. We couldn't get 8624 because of the shortages, so we tried with 180 - it was a rush needed to be done job, and we let.the customer know it may not last. It went up ok and looked...
  11. Does it make sense to buy HP with this quality of support?

You can switch service providers. I've had great experiences with Grimco, the local Grimco techs know a ton about latexs, and Grimco may have more pull than the others. If you're already using Grimco..then your other option is Ndgraphics. They're not bad either. Those are the only 2 I'd use...
  12. Does it make sense to buy HP with this quality of support?

Which company are you dealing with? And yes, we have a 700w - if you need help with some rush jobs as you wait, I'm In Langley and can help out for cost to keep you running.
  13. My supplier will be ND Graphics but which of the following materials would you use and why?

Do you know how to wrap? It's not as simple as buying a printer and material. I wouldn't drop 1k on a bundle in hopes you get a wrap job either! Wait until you get one then buy it. It's all stocked and shipped within a day at Nd graphics. 180 is what I'd use. It's a bit more expensive , but...
  14. Canon Colorado 1650 FEEDBACK

https://photos.app.goo.gl/fEJhzmyQQTp79aXp9 these were all printed at 9 pass - Some a bright red...some a deeper / darker red. I havent had any issues with reds on the resin, my guess is you're trying to print 6 pass / lower? I found 6 pass to be a bit washed out - I've been meaning to play...
  15. HP Latex printing on Chrome???

if the ink will bond, anything can be printed with latex. Turn the temp way down, and turn the passes way up - Add interpass delay if you have to. I've found you can print on even the pickiest materials if you play with the heat settings. Or... Print on a clear and mount it to the chrome...
  16. ink suppliers in Canada

Necroing one thread should be enough, don't need to necro 5.... Giving us Canadians a bad name
  17. Where can I find aluminum sign blanks

There are ways you can do it efficiently! A city we do work for needed 19,000 street blades made... 6" x 12 / 14 / 20". They had to be graphtec cut reflective though, to match their previous ones....they wouldnt accept digital print. No one wanted to touch the job, so we got to do a pretty...
  18. Trying to figure out what type of media these decals are made with. Any Ideas?

Heres an example. Look how much their sticker is shrinking... It looks like half their photos have this much shrinkage and the other half doesn't. At first I thought it was intentional to show that it peels off in a shape, but if it were they'd all be like that...
  19. Trying to figure out what type of media these decals are made with. Any Ideas?

Buy some and see. A lot of companies have absurd claims about stuff being dishwasher safe - we bought my kids a "sticker pack" from school with his name on it to label everything, supposed to be dishwasher safe... I think after the first week the decal had completely fallen off. Using a good...
  20. hp 700 vs epson r5070 yearly expenses and recommendations

Nope. it looks like ultraflexx sells a version that it is latex (And would be resin) printable though. Few things to note - I print on SAV 90% of the time - On really cheap media, the media will "Tunnel" a bit if you suck it back in after printing on it. By default the Resin will extend...
