  1. Vinyl by the yard

Check GSG However, if you find that you HAVE to buy more than you need PASS the EXTRA cost to your customer. Simple enough. Also explain that to your customer as well.
  2. 3M40c Peeling

NEVER USE CALANDERED VINYL ON VEHICLES! At least that is my opinion and what we do in my shop. The cost savings to you is MINIMAL for a project like that. Your issue may or may not be material related. Hard to tell from just picture. Many other factors…..

  8. What lamination to use on printed reflective?

No need to screen. Look at Orafol site and you should see a “recommended” lamination. If not, I’d recommend a cast lamination.
  9. What lamination to use on printed reflective?

Let me see where on 3Ms MCS warranty that they say 10years! I don’t have mine in front of me but I HIGHLY doubt they say that. I could be wrong. I carry a 3M MCS Warranty and don’t recall anything that high.
  10. Suggestions solid color boat wrap

As others have said 3M/Avery would be my go to to start. As far as cost goes….. Figure out how much material you are going to need add your margin. Then figure out how many hours it will take you to do. Multiply that by your labor rate. Add those 2 numbers together and PRESTO! There is...
  11. Intro to Wall Graphics / Wall Murals

Before looking at all of these “recommendations for material” here are some things to remember about what you are about to get into. - Adhesion tests should be a MUST in my opinion. When we produce wall murals we ALWAYS do a test. I’ve installed a lot of supplied murals and let me tell you...
  12. Back with more experience

Not only do you have to figure out your overhead, you also need to figure out what margin you want to operate at. The overhead gives you your calculated hourly rate for labor. You should also have an idea of what things are going for in your area. You should be in that area as well for your...
  13. Removing Decals...anyone use these Brothers chemicals?

The vinyl off sucks. I’ve tried 2x and never worked no matter how long you let it sit or how much you use. Heat and fingers or the vinyl erasers. I use the MBX removal discs. A little pricey and some post removal cleanup but works well.

Stupid people hunting season…. Had a call on Wednesday afternoon for a project involving 4 retractable banner stands, 4 sail/feather banners and some coro signs. All needed to arrive by Friday for a show (today)…… IN CANADA!!!!!! SMH!!!! I laterally laughed at my client and ask “are you...

IJ180 or 480 or similar products from Avery/Oracal/etc I’d figure $2000-$2800 installed (depending on your mark ups and labor rate)
  16. Stubborn Wall, Graphics Falling Off

Did you you an adhesion test before picking your product? What type of paint was used. There are recommended paints from most manufacturers. May take a bit of digging to find. I just sat down last week with some Orafol reps and this was a topic that we discussed and laughed.
