  1. How To videos

I’m sooooo glad I don’t do that anymore. I get 2-3 boards done in the same amount of time it took him to print/lam (assumed)/mount. Still do it but not that much….
  2. Preferred material for enclosed trailer wraps

Yes we have. I’ve use or installed all of the 180 line. Also 380/480/780(? The reflective wrap line). I believe the cv3 line is the one that 3M is making the most of and the others may or may not be in stock at vendors.
  3. Preferred material for enclosed trailer wraps

Never calandered in my shop. Always cast. Period. I don’t care for Oracal. I find 3M and Avery cast materials to be better. Avery is about $2/sqft (1105 vinyl and 1360 lam) 3M is about $2.15/sqft (180cv3 vinyl and 8518 lam) Plus your ink cost….. Cars, trucks, vans, work trailers, 53’...
  4. Plotter woes

Few things….. How long is the piece you are cutting. Longer the piece you might have to slow your cutter down. Check for skew before you send to cut. Is your cutter clean? Clean the “grit” wheels from build up. As you run your machine those wheels build up paper, dust and even adhesive. If...

We use iCut software to sent up the file(s) for production. So the work flow is… Setup file Send to rip Print side a Flip Print side b Cut That simple. That and square cut coro!
  6. Is my pricing too high for printed vinyl?

Race car = cheap (at least that has been my experience over the past 30+ years) Realtors too!
  7. Cutting ACM

Find someone that has a cnc router and work up a relationship to have them cut stuff for you. I had someone like that before I purchased my Esko.
  8. Possible to wrap in one piece?

    Looks good from here.
  9. Possible to wrap in one piece?

No just fender and hood. Solid 1-2 full days with prep, wrap and reassembly
  10. Possible to wrap in one piece?

    3-4 hours tops
  11. Possible to wrap in one piece?

That is correct. Fender, side of hood, top of hood. Also do the fender “front to back” and draw the vinyl across the “50-50” / high point. This will allow the vinyl along the wheel wells easier and adding a little heat, the vinyl will practically wrap itself.
  12. Possible to wrap in one piece?

You CAN wrap in 1 piece. However, that is a lot of stretch. I typically don’t go over 5%. We just did a can like this and the fenders were done first. Than the hood. Use knifeless on it and I’d bet the whole hood is done in a few hours tops. A good seam along the area where the fender...
  13. How much do you pay your Graphics Guy?

    $30/hr + overtime & benefits
  14. Delam issues with Avery 1105 1360/1460

It is the overcoat that is ink the ink. This is why HP took that out and made it a separate ink in the 700s/800s. Turn it off for lam and on for no lam. We really never had any issue with our 570. With our work flow we are printing one day and lamination the next. With our 800 we always...
  15. Discussion Slowing down or staying busy?

Projects scheduled out past the 1st of the year with no end in sight.
  16. Discussion Slowing down or staying busy?

Crazy busy and shorthanded…. The shorthand is the rough part….no one wants to work!
  17. CALENDARED VINYL with MATTE OVERLAM for print & cut vehicle decals

Cast vinyl and cast lamination. 100% of the time! Always…. Period. (At least for my shop. I will not put saving a buck or two over quality. I’ve been doing this since 1988 and have always used cast vinyl for vehicles)
  18. Dance Floor Decal

You will need more than just the vinyl You will need to “laminate” the mirror gold vinyl to a REMOVABLE adhesive vinyl. Then you will need a non-slip lamination on top of that. This will make this extremely think and difficult to cut. Vinyl is something like RTape VinylEfx Durable Series...
