  1. 2023 wrapup

This use to be us in the earlier days. We had some make shift systems, we used Asana, Trello etc. But noticed we never used it how we wanted and half processed the jobs. At the same time we had to manually enter it into Xero, and anywhere else it needed to be entered. We found when we moved...
  2. 2023 wrapup

This works best when you doing it for your employees for them to reference how things work. For example, we have QR codes around various equipment etc that link to a page with the essential info. Could be the Graphtec, and it'll show our default settings, which blade holder is for what...
  3. 2023 wrapup

Changes we made this year: (mostly software for us) - A huge investment into automation software. Our prepress is now fully automated which has saved us a ton of time. - Removed some subscription based software that wasn't essential and moved to self hosted, open source alternatives. Things...
  4. Question What is everyone charging for prints?

Fire sprint posted a wire format calculator. Start there.
  5. Graphtec FC9000 Changing Conditions?

make sure onyx is not setting the condition parameters. but only selecting the condition.
  6. Latex vs Solvent coverage per ml

You're asking the wrong question. You should be asking the following. Which is cheaper / more efficient to run Which is cheaper per ML per M2 / SQFT I dont know the ink pricing between the 2, but they wont be the same. so your ink coverage question wont be a very valid answer.
  7. Oce Arizona - Magenta printhead problem

I would not attempt to remove it and reinstall it. I'd call the tech to realign all the print heads. We do this at least once a year. Things move, you're constantly thouching them while cleaning.
  8. Custom Mouse Pads and Keyboard for Gaming?

I've been using Keychron keyboards, Not over priced but very good. The "Pro" versions you can customise the RGB Keys and have hot swap switches. Im very bias, and i dont like 3rd party software to run my keyboard. Razer have their own optical switches for keyboard which are nuts if you want...
  9. Enfocus vs One Vision

My curiosity will check it out, I know Switch has the Scripting module, but i don't have it yet. I'll probably send you a PM about this.
  10. Is Everyone Tired Of AI

I've used some of AI enabled chatbots for customer service. They're set up quite well. Goes though a few questions to help assist your problem. even google. Once it gets to the point it cannot assist you (usually pointing towards blog posts and answers) it'll then bring in a real person...
  11. Enfocus vs One Vision

Yeah i guess each to their own when it comes to this sort of software. Not so simple switching over. I dont do much colour managing in switch yet. Mine is mostly used for prepress where we add marks for jobs, rename cut paths, make white channels, banner marks etc. slowly slowly we keep adding.
  12. Enfocus vs One Vision

I use enfocus Swith * pitstop server, how does OneVision compare? and price wise? Honestly say first time im hearing of OneVision. Which is because i know people using Enfocus so naturally went to that path.
  13. Is Everyone Tired Of AI

AI is bloody amazing. This has nothing to do with generative art etc, AI as a whole is nuts, and is super useful if you know how to use it. I've played with generative art, that is also great the way it works. a simple prompt can scale your ideas. We use the LLM a lot for all sorts of...
  14. Equipment Redundancy - Bad idea to rely on one printer?

That's it? I'd be very livid, Im surprised how long it took for them to solve that, even though mentioning it was a possible issue. Glad it's fixed though.
  15. Equipment Redundancy - Bad idea to rely on one printer?

This is very rare to get in a printer, especially top end ones. I know you can do it with the Epson. The Colorado has 8 heads. Technically you can run it in 4 head mode at a reduced speed. (this is the 1630 basically) but there's no way if making the 1650 do it. (if there was a head issue)
  16. Equipment Redundancy - Bad idea to rely on one printer?

I dont think it's self service, but it's parts only? That's not A bad idea if that's the case. The manuals have all the info on how to replace and diagnose everything.
  17. On Print Shop or Inksoft

It's definitely not an India thing. It just happens most software developers are from there. But the issue is, the software is like any other software you use. Their team needs to keep it updated, bring in new features. Roll out updated. When it's time to rollout an update like adobe or Onyx...
  18. AUTOMATION and WORKFLOW

To automate hardware, you need software. In the game of automation, you need to start small. A workflow automation like i've demonstrated is something you need to do first. remove the paper, have everything in 1 system. Machine automation only works when you have specific products, no...
  19. AUTOMATION and WORKFLOW

Whoops. i accidently posted it in the wrong thread, then copy pasted it. fixed it.
  20. AUTOMATION and WORKFLOW

You need something like this. This is a 5 minute demo board i created for visual purposes. But it has the basics. This is basically a database / spreadsheet style board. Great thing is, you can have multiple views per station, So in the quotes, they can filter the "quotes" or the prepress area...
